It all started with Lincoln Logs, wooden go-carts, collecting discarded materials & building the coolest forts in the neighborhood. Moving forward, Tim studied Construction Management & Technology in college, worked with a prominent OC custom home builder and then established TM Grady Builders in his late twenties. In the early days of construction, Tim & his crew took on the wood framing & finish carpentry trades for each home. He absolutely loved studying the house plan, preparing detailed material lists & assembling the structure. Standing in the street & staring back at the completed home, something that came to life from a few sheets of paper, was pure satisfaction for Tim --- just like a finished fort as a kid. 

Planning, preparation & a smooth process are the staples of a successful build in Tim’s eyes. He works with a team of good, talented people who share his vision & values. Together they strive to work through a unique & proven home building process for suited clients who seek an all-around professional experience & a completely tailored home.

A commitment to excellence, timely communications, effective leadership, collaboration, & constant education are embraced by each team member. Building science, best practices & recognized innovations are ongoing studies that, believe it or not, keep some of this staff up at night! Monthly meets with non-competing, top end custom builders from around the country to further hone management skills, assemblies & customer relations is another huge plus for TM Grady.

There is nowhere else a builder can get this type of education! Twice a year, our team returns from the Builder 20 meeting with an improved vision for our company and many beneficial process upgrades to help ensure the trust of our clientele.

The Custom Home Roundtable
TM Grady Builders moderates and hosts a local industry Roundtable Meeting biannually. These meetings—which include key trades, vendors, select design professionals, and recent clients—help us hone the process of custom home design and construction. We talk about goals and objectives, along with potential challenges and setbacks. It’s an opportunity for our trades and vendors to hear about reasonable/achievable goals directly from architects, interior designers, and some of our clientele. This opportunity encourages growth, higher quality standards, and improved communication within our local industry. It is a great occasion for all of us to become more grounded & sharpen entire team interactions.

Planting Trees in California
We are very excited about this program! With the completion of every new home, we plant 500 new trees in California via One Tree Planted in our respective client’s name. Our vision is to encourage others to follow suit and plant many, many thousands of trees throughout our country and in other forested countries.
